This is what I'm focused on Now in my life.
Inspired by: nownownow.com
- Current streaks: Tom Sachs' I.S.R.U. camp 430 days, running 126 days, boot.dev 280 days.
- Finished a big stretch on boot.dev: SQL, Data Structures & Algorithms, Git 2, HTTP Clients in TypeScript, and the Static Site Generator project. Level 81 and top 3% on the leaderboard.
- Built House Points, a chore tracker for the kids with Hogwarts houses and allowance payouts.
- Playing guitar every day. Been on a Smiths kick for a while now. Rig page update coming soon.
- Home server is now running Jellyfin, NextCloud, Fizzy, Writebook, and MusicBrainz Picard.
- Migrating over to Omarchy after Quattro dropped and reinvigorated me.
- Gave this site a long-overdue refresh.
- Finished Song of Susannah and almost halfway through The Dark Tower. Wrapping up the series after ~3 years.
- Finished big projects on boot.dev including an AI agent. Grinding through DSA.
- Learning NEOVIM.
- Spun up my own Ubuntu Server after learning Docker. Self-hosting Fizzy and NextCloud behind a Cloudflare tunnel.
- Back to playing guitar regularly after sitting it down the last few months.
- Dedicated to Tom Sachs' I.S.R.U. camp. >250 days going strong.
- Watching lots of movies with the family this year!
- Re-read The Fellowship of the Ring and now looking for a copy of The Two Towers as I've lost mine.
- Getting into Dungeons & Dragons slowly and forcing my family to play with me.
- Ditching streaming and enjoying my records and CD's.
- Grinding through boot.dev and learning backend development.
I miss my son everyday, and everything keeps moving forward, away from the time I had.
Most things are just a distraction now.
- Working on AWS Certification, coding + Github, and updating this site.
- Installed Omarchy on my spare MacBook and am digging deep into that wilderness.
- Revisiting Stranger Things, which I didn't pickup again at S3 but now I feel it calling once again.
- Lots and lots of Programming, Networking, & CS skills. Leveling up day by day, and throwing in some typing practice as well.
Grief. Coming to the end of the toughest year of my life and gathering the pieces to keep moving forward.
