I spent a decade running IT for K-12 districts: rostering syncs, Google Workspace, device fleets, and all the data that has to be right before teachers see it. Now I build production data infrastructure on AWS.

I work in Python and SQL first, and I'm an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. When not behind the screen I'm riffing on my Jazzmaster.

Experience

DevOps Engineer (Contract), Anomaly Studios

May 2026 – Present · Remote
  • Built the MySQL binlog to Postgres replication pipeline behind a self-hosted PowerSync engine for a production mobile app, turning a hand-built proof of concept into repeatable infrastructure as code.
  • Sole infrastructure engineer: wrote all of the Terraform across two environments, designed the IAM model, and wrote the security review for an external audit.
  • Set up monitoring for failure: 14 CloudWatch alarms, backup-failure alerting, AWS Backup plans, and RDS deletion protection.
  • Audited an outside consultant's rewrite of the platform and found eight gaps that would have broken production.

Systems Engineer, MGM Communications

Dec 2016 – Present · Maumee, OH (Hybrid)
  • Ran Clever and ClassLink rostering syncs across district tenants, keeping student and staff records consistent in Google Classroom, McGraw Hill, IXL, GoGuardian, and Lightspeed.
  • Built Python and Google Apps Script automation for user provisioning, inventory, and backup-rotation compliance, cutting manual work on those workflows by about 40%.
  • Administered Google Workspace across multiple client tenants, plus Apple School Manager and Jamf/Meraki device fleets.
  • Built and deployed Ping Monitor, which tracks 40+ devices at three client sites.
  • Sole technical contact for leadership at 20+ client organizations.
